Hallmark Movie Review: ‘Twas the Date Before Christmas (2024)

Movie Summary

To prevent her family from canceling the “Chamberlain Family Christmas Olympics,” Jessie lies and says she’s inviting a date to the long-standing holiday tradition. She meets Bryan on a dating app, and he agrees to spend the holiday with her and her family. As Jessie and Bryan engage in eccentric activities like the search for the Christmas tree star, gift wrapping contest and snowball fight, they start to develop real feelings for each other. Soon her family begins to catch on to their secret and Bryan suspects she may be hiding the real reason for her unusual Christmas date request. As the celebrations continue, Jessie must work to keep all her stories straight and save her date with Bryan.

Movie Review

I really loved this movie! It has similarities of ‘Twas the Text Before Christmas that is on the Great American Family Channel that was first aired in 2023. However, there is one repeating actor that appears in both movies, but she plays different characters. I, also loved this movie because it kept me glued to the screen wanting to know what was coming next.

It is a great movie to start the kick-off of Hallmark’s Countdown to Christmas of 2024! There was an immediate, natural, and good chemistry that happened between Jessie and Bryan. There are lots of Hallmark movies to choose from and there are not too many that I don’t enjoy, but this one does go on my Favorites List.
