You will notice going forward that you will not find me on Facebook or Instagram for my blog and you will see my accounts are missing. It may take about 30 days for it to go into effect. Just so you know they aren’t just temporarily “unpublished”.

I quit.
Yes, you heard me correctly!
As a blogger and content creator, I just left two of the most popular social media platforms in the online world today. At this point, I don’t have any intention of going back. I know you probably think this is a crazy thing to do, but I think it is best for my blog and my personal sanity. You will still see a link that directs you to my blog, but that is all you will see on my personal pages.
I didn’t have many followers on either of those, so it made sense to discontinue posting there for business reasons. So, those followers just went pouf! and disappeared into thin air. Just like that, they are Gone with the Wind (one of my favorite movies). But I don’t care, it will just help me in the long run.
Let me tell you why I left Facebook and Instagram!
Why I Deleted My Facebook and Instagram Accounts
There were several very good reasons for deleting Facebook and Instagram business accounts. I’d say these social media platforms were draining my life and my creative efforts here on my blog. Social Media is here today, but it could be gone tomorrow!
I, also have a life other than blogging so I do not want to put those things on the back burner. This blog is more of a creative venture, not a money-maker. If I make income great, if not that’s okay. This made me realize they just aren’t worth my time.
I Lost My Patience, Passion, and Perseverance
All too often, I felt discontent with parts of my home. I have other things I like to do as well including gardening, swimming, spending time around the bonfire, and other things that come up. I retired from my regular job for a reason.
So, I decided to pull the plug on Facebook and Instagram. I have added the comment section on my blog since I removed those accounts. I will still be on Pinterest and maybe some other avenues as I see fit.
I Can’t Do It All (Even If Others Can)
I need to be true to myself and recognize that I can’t do it all like some people can. I am over 50 and there are just things I can’t do as well, especially with my Sciatica Pain. I have good and bad days, sometimes it will fluctuate depending on the weather.
I will be concentrating on putting content on this blog. Post new pictures to social media on my personal accounts. Post to Pinterest. Cook meals for my family and get-togethers. Run my home better than before. Growing vegetables in my garden and spending some quality time outdoors. Look after my bird and hummingbird feeders so they do not go hungry.
I Quit To Give More To Myself, Home And My Readers
I want to live my life with Simplicity and Focus. I want to make sure I’m living with purpose and be proud of what I am doing when I am way older. After seeing a similar post, I decided to do the same by directing my efforts to my life, home, and blog the way I want it to go not what others say I need to.
That is why I said goodbye to Facebook and Instagram!
This will give me more time to give to the things that matter most.
So now you know why I left Facebook and Instagram
Don’t worry! I’ll still be showing up regularly on this blog, in your email inbox, Pinterest, and maybe another avenue when I find the right one, plus you can always send me an email if you have questions.
I’m still here from now on, but it will just look a bit different as I can now focus on sending you emails instead of Facebook and Instagram.
